The main research activity is related to the processing-structure-properties relationships of polymeric thin films and polymer nanocomposites. The main arguments of the scientific production is on the field of charge separation and transportation in new multifunctional carbon-based ensembles and deposition of nanostructured thin films for optoelectronics. In the last years we are particularly interested in molecular recognition as a means to control the composition, orientation, and charge-separation in polymeric nanostructured ensembles.
The main research activities are listed below:
- Composites interface characterisation
- Dielectric characterisation (DETA)
- Surface plasma treatments
he laboratories and equipments are listed below
Laboratory of Surface Treatment of Materials
- Plasma (MPA/CVD) equipment for carbon film deposition and surface treatments, spin coating and thermal evaporator for thin film deposition.
- DC and AC conductivity are measurable in a broad temperature range.
- Climatic chamber (-70°C - 200 °C, vacuum)
- Chemical and mechanical polishing equipment for surface preparation
- Optical Microscopy, UV visible and IR spectroscopy for the photoageing characterization.
- Atomic force microscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy, field emission electron microscopy for the determination of the structure / property relations at the different scale levels.
